After the first year of business, I decided to invite back all the featured authors for the year to a big Pulpwood Queens author reunion party. We called it our Pulpwood Queens Author Extravaganza. But as the book club has grown through the years and it became very clear that mostly women were attending this event, we decided to change the name of our annual Pulpwood Queens convention. We would now call it our Annual Pulpwood Queens “Girlfriend Weekend” Author Extravaganza. And why not expand our annual daylong event into a weekend literary extravaganza where we would call in all the chapters, a Pulpwood Queens reunion party and more? The Pulpwood Queens now host the event and invite every other book club, book lover, and girlfriend. I decided to bring in the big dogs and invite all the worthy authors whose books I could not fit into our twelve-book-a-year selection program.
